The order of the Prosecutor has immediate effect, and indeed former MP Nizamettin Toguc has been released from prison soon after having dealt with some formalities.

Recognizing that there was no need for the Kurdish president of KonKurd to remain in prison, the prosecutor of the Venice Court of Appeal has ordered his release. The only condition given to the former MP is to remain at a given address until further notice, i.e. until decision is made on the extradition request made by Turkey.
