Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan's brother Mehmet Öcalan made a short statement after his return from İmralı prison where he and families of other prisoners -Şeyhmus Poyraz and Cumali Karsu- visited their relatives on Monday.

According to Mehmet Öcalan, the Kurdish leader said that the “democratisation package” unveiled by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on 30 September didn't concern the Kurdish issue.

“It’s a package prepared by the government. There is nothing I can do at this point. I will make my thoughts public on October 15,’” Mehmet Öcalan quoted him as saying.
