An armed attack in Amed has targeted two police officers affiliated to Diyarbakır Security Directorate's Traffic Division in Şehitlik neighborhood of Yenişehir district Thursday afternoon.

While the two, Ali Karahan and Tansu Aydın, were hospitalized with severe injuries, the latter has died in hospital.

An expansive operation has been launched in the area soon after the attack.
