At least 35 persons were detained in house raids carried out early this morning in Istanbul, Ankara, Siirt and Denizli while 3 persons were formally arrested in Hakkari.
ISTANBUL
In operations launched by Turkish security forces in various districts and neighbourhoods of Istanbul including Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece, Esenyurt and Beyoğlu early this morning, 15 HDP activists were detained and taken to the police HQ in Istanbul.
ANKARA
At least 3 persons were detained in police operations launched early this morning against some houses where students from various universities in Ankara live. According to the reports, 2 more persons were detained in the scope of the same operation in Istanbul and Adana.
The interrogation of five detainees who were previously taken into custody in relation to an action in 2013, continues at Ankara police headquarters. Lawyers said an arrest warrant has been issued for more people in the scope of the case file, and that detentions could increase in the coming hours and days.
SİİRT
Police raided many houses in Barış and Çal neighbourhoods of Siirt this morning. While two persons were detained in the raids in Barış neighbourhood, one other was detained in Çal neighbourhood.
DENİZLİ
12 persons, including DIHA reporter Gökhan Öner and HDP executives were detained in the house raids carried out by police forces this morning in a western province, Denizli. 12 persons were detained on alleged grounds of membership to YDG-H (Patriotic Revolutionary Youth's Movement).
HAKKARİ
4 persons who had been detained in Hakkari the previous day were referred to the court house today following the completion of their procedures at the police department.
While DBP executive Cevahir Kaçar was released by the prosecutor, the other three were formally arrested and sent to Hakkari Closed Prison on alleged ground of “being member of an organisation”.
