In Paris, Kurds and their friends gathered under the leadership of TJK-E (Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe) for Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî), Emine Kara (Evîn Goyî), Mîr Perwer and Abdurrahman Kızıl, who were martyred in two massacres on 9 January 2013 and 23 December 2022.

Kurds and their companions are staging a central demonstration in Paris today to protest against the two massacres and the ongoing impunity.

Tens of thousands marched from Gare du Nord to the Place de la Republique in protest against the massacre, which the French justice and security authorities did not clarify by calling it a "state secret". Demanding light to be shed on the massacre, the demonstrators reiterated the demand for "justice".

French senators marched under the banner "L'Etat français doit lever le secret-defence!" (The French government must abolish state secrecy). Senators from the French Communist Party also protested against the French state's failure to ensure justice.

Artists marched in a separate cortege. Kurdish artists, members of TEV-ÇAND, marched with the banner "Justice pour nos martyrs (Justice for our martyrs)".

Women participated in the march behind the banner "La femme, la vie, liberte brisée l'obscurité (Jin Jiyan Azadî against darkness)", chanting the slogan “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Woman, Life, Freedom).

The rally at Republique Square started with the Kurdish anthem Ey Reqîb and a moment of silence for the martyrs.
