Persecution of Kurdish politicians continues
At least 11 people were detained during an operation against the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) in Istanbul.
Many houses in Küçükçekmece and Baþakþehir were raided by police. Among the 11 detaines are also BDP members and executives. The names of the detainees are as follows; : Aytekin Aydemir, Rasim Aðraþ, M. Selim Özer, Lütfü Balbal, Yusuf Turan, Reþit Mete, Yeter Akbay, Ýsmail Özdemir, Mehmet Altýntaþ, Behçet Gök, Halit Erik.
It has been reported that the detainees are held at Istanbul Police Office at Vatan District.
In the past days 19 people including BDP Küçükçekmece County Chairman Salih Baykal were detained following the raids in Küçükçekmece and Baþakþehir. The detainees are expected to be sent in front of the Public Prosecutor’s Office tomorrow.
