Petrol pipeline explosion left two persons dead

An explosion at the Kerkuk-Yumurtalik petrol pipeline passing through Midyat district of Mardin left two persons dead and one injured last night.

It is reported that while the cause of explosion has not been determined yet, the persons who died were travelling in two different cars driving along the highway near by the pipeline.

It is reported that the company BOTAS stopped pumping petrol and fire fighters were sent in order to extinguish the fire started after the explosion.

It is also reported that the people who lost their lives in the explosion were two lift repairmen from Mardin, Islam Aslan and Tacettin Demir. The other person who was injured Ibrahim Gemalmaz (32) is reported to be in a critical condition and has been transferred to Ankara for treatment.
