Police take 40 people into custody in Istanbul

Police have been raiding many addresses in Istanbul since Tuesday. At least 40 people have been detained so far in the raids carried out in centers including İdil Cultural Center and People's Law Office. Among those detained are Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association (PSAKD) Sarıyer Branch executiver Şimal Deniz, Detainee and Convict Families Solidarity Association (TAYAD) families, Ayten Öztürk, who has been under house arrest for more than 2 years, as well as a number of lawyers.
A 24-hour lawyer restriction decision was issued for those detained.
Some of the people in custody have been named as follows: "Betül Vangölü Kozağaçlı, Didem Baydar Ünsal, Seda Şaraldı, Berrak Çağlar, Ali Sinan Çağlar, Şimal Deniz, Ayten Öztürk, Selma Demir, Özlem Balkı, Arif Pelit, Kemal Gün, Savaş Taş, Burcu Delen, Mercan Kanat, Yüksel Doğan, Gökhan Uysal, Ali Gürbüz, Dilan Poyraz, Barış Yüksel, Fırat Kaya, Bergün Varan, Merve Kurt, Bahar Kurt Kızılaltun, Barış Kaya, Mehmet Yücetepe, Lerzan Caner Conde, Seval Eyi, Selda Özçelik, Meryem Özsöğüt, Merve Demirel."
