President Gül: with war we can't improve in other fields

President Abdullah Gül yesterday addressed military staff at the War Academy Commandership in Istanbul before the meeting of the MGK (National Security Council).

“Without getting [terror] under control, - said Gül - developing and improving in other fields of Turkey is difficult. Terror confronts us because it knows this. Turkey must overcome this impediment and escape this trap.”

The president recognized that the biggest question in Turkey is the Kurdish question.

The president added that “in today’s world you might meet with enmity or friendship, sometimes from your neighbors, sometimes from your allies, sometimes from the one you know as your brother and sometimes from the unions that you struggle to be accepted in.”
