In France and Switzerland, there have been protest actions against the deadly air raids of Turkey on Zînê Wertê and the Maxmur refugee camp in Southern Kurdistan.
In Zurich, activists of the Bêrîtan Women's Council protested against the deadly air raids of Turkey on Zînê Wertê and the Maxmur refugee camp in Southern Kurdistan. Three guerrilla fighters and three civilians were killed in the attacks just two weeks ago. The activists gathered at the central Helvatia Square for a vigil. They carried a banner with the words: "Despite Corona, we cannot stay at home because the Turkish army is bombing Kurdistan".
A similar action took place in Basel. Activists of the Ronahî Women's Council demanded: "Turkish army, get out of Kurdistan".
Actions in Paris and Marseilles
In Paris, the capital of France, activists attached a banner to the representation of the KDP in the face of the threat of military escalation in Southern Kurdistan where a fratricidal Kurdish conflict is looming, triggered by the deployment of troops of the Barzani party in Zînê Wertê in close cooperation with Turkey. The deployment of KDP forces enables control over access to the guerrilla area in the Qandil Mountains, which for the PKK is tantamount to a declaration of war.
In Marseille, Kurdish youth hung banners on bridges in three central places in the city with the demands "Freedom for all political prisoners", "Do not allow any life without the Leader" and "Take your dirty hands of Kurdistan".
