SDF liberate two villages in eastern Raqqa

YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have liberated two villages of Raqqa as they make further advances towards the ISIS stronghold.

The Operation Wrath of Euphrates to liberate Raqqa from ISIS occupation witnesses significant developments in the third phase of the military campaign aiming to cut the connection between Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor. Fighters of the Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room, advancing towards Raqqa on two axes, yesterday took control of a large area in east Raqqa after their liberation of the strategic Menxerê Hill.

SDF fighters have liberated the village of Gubar at the bank of Euphrates and 65 km east of Raqqa early Thursday morning in the wake of heavy clashes with ISIS groups.

The village of al-Qecla, 20 km east of Raqqa, was also taken under control in the wake of violent clashes with ISIS gangs this morning.
