Strasbourg hunger strikers: We'll step up the resistance in 2019

The hunger strike carried out in Strasbourg began the new year with words of resistance.

The hunger strike in Strasbourg city of France is carried out to demand the end of the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and in solidarity with the HDP Hakkari MP, Leyla Güven who has been on hunger strike for 55 days.

The hunger strikers are being visited by hundreds of activists. And on the first day of 2019 they called on everyone to step up the resistance.

On the last day of 2018 the hunger strikers were visited by PYD (Democratic Union Party) Europe representatives, as well as the PYD Switzerland executives.

People from Stuttgart, Mannheim, Esslingen, Marseille, Bordeaux also visited the hunger strikers.

All speeches reminded of the importance of spreading the action and supporting the hunger strikers in Europe as well as in Turkey and Kurdistan.

Hunger strikers reaffirmed their determination to continue their fast until the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is lifted and added that protests against Turkish threats of occupation should grow.

The importance of Kurdish unity was stressed once again and activists reminded that the most precious achievements are gained at a very high price.
