“We call on our people to raise the resistance and struggle with the motto “Remove the isolation, defeat fascism and liberate Kurdistan. 2019 will be the year for Leader Apo’s freedom and Kurdistan’s liberation,” said the hunger strikers in Strasbourg.
15 participants of an indefinite hunger strike in France’s Strasbourg city sent a message for the New Year and stated that 2019 will be the year for Ocalan’s freedom, expansion of struggle in Kurdistan and the end of fascism.
In the statement, 2018 is described as a year in which resistance has been strengthened within the Kurdish community and Kurds have struggled against massacres in four parts of Kurdistan. The strikers noted that the Kurdish people defeated ISIS’ terror and brutality, and boosted people’s hope in the Middle East and throughout the world.
‘To avoid their defeat, they used all their resources’
“With growing struggle for freedom, authoritarian forces along with occupiers and fascists started a new round of assaults to revive their conspiracy,” the statement said.
The statement underlined that the Kurds have impressively resisted against hypocrite policies of the United States and Europe, “With the occupation of Afrin, Erdogan and the AKP’s true fascist face is now clearly apparent,” the statement added.
The strikers said the cooperation between Erdogan’s fascism and AKP-MHP, in order to avoid their own defeat, continue to target the Kurdish people and their achievements with all means available.
‘We will consolidate the resistance in 2019’
“We the Kurdish people will further support the resistance in 2019. There will be a historical resistance against genocide and occupation plots in Kurdistan and the Middle East, the occupiers’ attempts will be doomed to failure. In 2019, the freedom struggle will succeed against Erdogan’s dictatorship,” the statement followed.
The strikers also added that in 2019 the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan will be freed, and fascism will defeated, “2019 will be the year for Ocalan’s freedom,” said the statement.
