Support for Leyla Güven in Amsterdam

Activists reiterated the demands of the hunger strikers for an end to isolation against Öcalan and called for their release.

The Venice of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, organised a boat action to express solidarity with HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven.

Güven has been on hunger strike for 78 days in Amed prison and her health is quickly deteriorating.

Activists hanged a huge banner with photos of Güven, Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and hunger strike activists in Strasbourg, Wales and Hewlêr.

The boat toured Amsterdam’s canals and activists reiterated the demands of the hunger strikers for an end to isolation against Öcalan and called for their release.

As the boat sailed through the canals people on the streets saluted the activists with cheers and applauses.
