Tens of thousands of people from many cities gathered in Ankara for the HDP 5th Ordinary Congress.

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) today is holding its 5th Ordinary Congress. Tens of thousands of people from cities in North Kurdistan to Izmir, Edirne and Istanbul have arrived in Ankara for the meeting.

While entering the area, thousands of people chanted "Bê Serok jiyan nabe" and "HDP is the people, the people are here".

Many women took their place in the hall with olive branches symbolizing peace.

The people said they were fighting against the pressures put on the HDP and demanded freedom for the prisoners with the slogan "Bîjî berxwedana zindanan".

In the congress hall, slogans were also shouted against the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and women in white scarfs and traditional Kurdish clothes caught the eye of observers.

Those who dance the halay in the early hours of the morning in the hall often chanted the slogan "Bijî Serok Apo".

The entrance to the congress hall continues.
