Tension in Batman are reportedly high after killing of 5 Kurdish guerrillas by Turkish army two days ago.

Batman Public Initiative issued a statement and called the residents to stand against "brutality" of Turkish army.

Bodies of 5 guerrillas are now in the morgue of a local hospital in Besiri, a town of Batman province.

Bodies are said to be in all burnt and unidentifiable.

On Sunday clashes broke out between HPG guerrillas and the Turkish soldiers who were running an operation in Hicre region near Besiri. Turkish officials claimed that while 2 Turkish soldiers were were wounded, 5 PKK fighters also lost their lives as a result of the helicopter bombardments.

HPG has not issued a press release regarding the clashes.
