Turkish artillery bombarded Zap region of South Kurdistan for two days the armed wing of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party says.

People’s Defense Forces (HPG) said Turkish artillery fired mortars to various areas of Zap region for the last two days.

HPG says the bombardment continues day and night and targets Kuniska, Kela Merganis, Gira Havane, Gunde Resme, Xerogol and Sýkefta Birindara areas.

Kurdish guerillas are in position of ceasefire which was declared by the PKK last August.

But Turkish army continues its bombardment of suspected guerilla positions and military operations against the Kurdish guerillas.

More than 20 Kurdish guerillas were killed as a result of Turkish military operations since August.

Two weeks ago a Kurdish guerilla lost his life in Xakurke region during Turkish artillery bombardment.
