Turkish shelling of Kurdish village in Parliament

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) group deputy chair and Iğdır deputy Pervin Buldan tabled a parliamentary question in relation to the Turkish army's shelling the Susikê village of Serêkaniyê city in West Kurdistan on 19 September.

Buldan cited the media reports on Turkish shelling from the Numan Beg military post in Urfa's Akçakale district, and the allegations that three YPG (People's Defense Units) died as a result of the attack which -she said- was launched to support the al-Nusra Front that suffered a heavy defeat in clashes with YPG fighters in the  Susikê village as of 16 September.

Buldan reminded of a recent statement by YPG headquarters which confirmed the reports, held the Turkish state responsible for the killing of three YPG fighters and warned Turkey to stop supporting armed groups attacking West Kurdistan.

Buldan asked the following questions for which he asked Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's answer;

- Is it true that Turkish military opened fire on YPG positions from border military posts? If the allegations are true, what is the purpose and legal grounds of this intervention?

- Considering the possibility that the allegations are true, is the intervention on YPG forces not considered as an action that goes contrary to the ongoing dialogue and ceasefire process and may harm it?

- Do the allegations that the Turkish state is supporting the al-Nusra and ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham) fronts, which openly declare their connection with the al-Qaeda organization responsible for the death of civilians across the world and our country, reflect the truth? If so, what is the purpose of this support?
