Two more guerrilla groups reached Western Kurdistan

The process of Kurdish guerrillas repositioning accross the border is continuing since 8 May in line with the call Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan made on 21 March in the main Kurdish city Diyarbakır.

Two more groups of guerrillas from Dersim and Botan regions have reached Media Defense Areas on Saturday.

The Dersim group led by Hozan Munzur and the Botan group led by Xelat Şemsê were welcomed with a ceremony attended by HPG (People's Defense Forces) and YJA Star (Free Women’s Troop) Military Council members.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Xelat Şemsê said the Kurdish movement has done its part in the democratic resolution process by exercising the withdrawal across Turkish borders. Şemsê pointed out that Öcalan was the red line of the Kurdish movement, adding that the Turkish state has taken no concrete steps in the last four months of ongoing negotiations.

Speaking after, Dersim group's leader Hozan Dersim said that "It doesn't matter that we encountered ambushes and operations on our way up to here. The process requires big steps".

Dersim remarked that the enhancement of military post and dam constructions after the withdrawal of guerrillas was a manifestation of AKP government's insincerity towards the negotiation process. He said that the ongoing process could make headway towards a solution if the Turkish state changed its attitude towards Kurdish people's leader, Abdullah Öcalan.

Baharin Kendal, woman leader of the Dersim group, underlined that their groups have completed their withdrawal to Media Defense Areas because of their trust in Öcalan and the Kurdish freedom movement.
