Visits continue at Ahmet Kaya Cultural Center

Visitors continue to pour into Ahmet Kaya Cultural Center, where a massacre took place on 23 December. Underlining that the incident was a political massacre, not a racist attack, the visitors called on the French state to "uncover the massacre".

It has been 7 days since the attack against the Ahmet Kaya Cultural Center which left three Kurdish activists dead and three wounded. While the visits by institutions and organizations from different countries to the Justice Vigil launched by the people, continued throughout the day, Alevi writer and editor Selim Açan and Oya Açan, Dev-Yol executives, FEDA co-chair Demir Çelik, Pir Rıza Yağmur, FEDA Swiss and French representatives and Alevi Women's Movement activists, the Gulo family from Rojava, living in Sweden, visited the Cultural Center on Thursday.

FEDA co-chair Demir Çelik said: “This massacre has been carried out by the fascist invading Turkish state. I condemn this despicable attack. Of course, it is not only in the hands of the Turkish state, but also in the hands of the capitalist states. 10 years ago, three women were murdered in Paris. Unfortunately, the French state did not reveal the perpetrators of this massacre. All Kurds want the perpetrators of this massacre to be revealed. This massacre took place because the killings, 10 years ago, were covered up. Now they want to treat this attack as a racist attack. The Kurdish people have been standing for days, claiming their martyrs. I am calling on the French state. The Kurds do not want war; they do not want massacres. Expose the murderers of the Kurds.”

Alevi Piri Rıza Yağmur also gave a short speech. Yağmur said, “We have thousands of martyrs to date. 3 new lives have been added to these martyrs. Our pain is great,” she said.

Songül Çelik also gave a speech on behalf of the Alevi Women's Council.

Rojtman: This is a political murder

One of the visitors was Suzy Rojtman, spokesperson of the French National Women's Coordination. Rojtman said: “A massacre took place in the middle of Paris on 23 December. When we heard about the massacre, we immediately thought of the massacre that happened 10 years ago, again in Paris. Our sisters Sakine, Leyla and Fidan were murdered. This is not an acceptable situation. Today, an important female figure has been murdered and, at the same time, the Kurds have been murdered. This is a political murder. We have been demanding justice for the Sakine together with Kurdish women for years. Today we are here to demand justice again.”

While the visits to Ahmet Kaya Cultural Center continued throughout the day, a public meeting was held to inform the visitors. Zozan Serhat on behalf of TJK-E and Celil Akdoğan on behalf of the Martyr Families Institution gave information about the developments.
