Women-led uprising in Iran on day 110

Despite the brutal crackdown by Iranian state forces, the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" uprising continues. According to human rights activists, at least 516 protestors have been killed since September 16.

Following the murder of a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, by the morality police in Tehran on September 16, there has been a popular movement unprecedented since the revolution of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

While the popular uprising is on its 110th day, mass protests are going on, especially in East Kurdistan.

In Mahabad, a commemoration ceremony was held forty days after the killing during demonstrations of Shemal Xediri Pur with the participation of dozens of people on Monday. During the commemoration, slogans were chanted in support of the Ciwanro people who are under a state forces blockade.

More troops were deployed to the streets of Ciwanro to suppress the popular reaction.

Another commemoration took place in the city of Miyandwa. Mehran Şikari, who was killed by Iranian state forces in the city of Kerec in November 2022, was commemorated at his grave in Miyandwa on Monday.

Commemorations are scheduled to be held today in various cities in Iran.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at least 516 protestors, 70 of whom were under the age of 18, were murdered between September 16 and January 2. 19,204 protestors were detained.

According to HRANA, the protests have spread to 161 cities. Other Iranian opposition sources claim the death toll to be higher. According to some opposition sources, at least 750 people have been killed. The identities of 601 of them have been released on an internet site.

Iran's Human Rights Organization (IHR) reported that as of 27 December, at least 476 activists, including 64 children and 34 women, were murdered, and 100 activists face execution.
