Works of Abdullah Öcalan read in Austria

Reading events on the works of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan were organised in Vienna, Graz and Linz in Austria.

The Austrian Kurdish Women's Movement organised reading events on ‘The Leader’ in the Democratic Kurdish Community Centres in Vienna, Graz and Linz with the slogan ‘No to the system of isolation, torture and genocide against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, freedom for Leader Apo and a solution to the Kurdish question.’

In Linz, sections from Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's works on ‘Politics in the Age of Democratic Civilisation - Democratic Politics’ were read, while in Vienna, Öcalan's notes and letters on the philosophy of ‘Jin, Jiyan Azadî’ (Woman, Life, Freedom), which explains that approach to women in the social sphere, especially in the ideological, political and military fields of the freedom movement, is an approach to the values of freedom, were read. In the city of Graz, articles were written on how women should create areas of freedom on the ecological axis, on the basis of social morality and conscience, how women should take part in the self-defence system against this, and how the participation rate of all patriotic and labouring women should be revealed.

While the public showed great interest in the two-hour-long events in different regions, the participants gained deeper perspectives on politics and democracy.
