YPG: 43 gang militants killed in the last two days

In a written statement about the recent clashes in Serekaniye and Çilaxa, Western Kurdistan's People's Defense Units (YPG) Press Office said that 48 gang militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham (ISIS) and the jihadist al-Nusra Front have been killed in clashes in the last 48 hours.

Remarking that severe clashes broke out three times in the Serekaniye city in the last two days, YPG said that their fighters strongly responded to the attacks by the mentioned armed groups, killing 21 gang militants and damaging three vehicles carrying weapons during the clashes on Til Xelef way.

Also giving information about the clashes around the villages of Til Elo, Sefa and Girhok in Çilaxa region, of Girke Lege, YPG said that eight gang members were killed in clashes that broke out near Til Elo village after YPG fighters attacked and severely damaged the gang groups' headquarters with heavy weapons.

YPG noted that five gang members were killed in separate clashes near the headquarters of the armed groups in village of Sefa.

According to YPG, nine gang militants were also killed after the heavy weapon attack YPG fighters launched against the gang groups as they tried to move into the Girhok village.

One fighter of the YPG has also lost his life in clashes in the region within the last two days.
