Since mid July People's Defense Units (YPG) and Women's Defense Units (YPJ) guerrillas are engaged in fighting al-Qaeda-linked armed groups on several fronts in Rojava: Çilaxa, Tirbespiyê, Serêkaniyê, Kobani, Afrin and Aleppo.

In Çilaxa five people died in two weeks as a result of suicide attacks carried out by al-Nusra Front militants.

Clashes are intensifying by the day despite the heavy losses Kurdish guerrillas have inflicted on these Islamic groups, like al-Nusra Front and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Front.
