YPG enters Elok village in Serêkaniyê
Clashes between People's Defense Units (YPG) and al-Qaeda linked ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham) and al-Nusra Front are continuing in the village of Elok, located seven km away from the Serêkaniyê city in western Kurdistan.
YPG fighters have taken the control of a large area in the village. Many members of the radical Islamist groups, including a leader (emir) have been killed in clashes which are gıing on since Monday evening, according to a source close to YPG.
Armed gang groups are also launching artillery attacks from another village in the region.
Al-Nusra leader (emir) Enes El-Midfi (Ebu Leys) was killed in clashes with YPG (People's Defense Units) fighters in the city of Serêkaniyê on 14 September, reported ISIS linked Ebu Huzeyfe El Yemam brigade on its website on Monday.
Clashes in the region have intensified since 14 September when armed gang groups, including ISIS units and some brigades affiliated to FSA, launched an expansive attack against the Kurdish city.
