YPG takes two villages in Til Koçer
Western Kurdistan's People's Defense Units (YPG) fighters took the control of two villages in Til Koçer region where they had carried out an expansive act on 6 September Friday night as part of the “Martyr Çekjin Efrin Revolutionary Operation” launched one week ago.
The villages of Seharic and Sideriye, 3 km away from the Til Koçer city bordering Mosul, were taken from al-Qaeda affiliated gang groups ISIS (Islamic state of Iraq and ash-sham) and al-Nusra Front. YPG fighters also seized two vehicles carrying antiaircraft weapons.
Clashes around two villages lasted till late into the night.
On Saturday afternoon, YPG fighters also seized a military guard post, several km away from Til Koçer, following fierce clashes with ISIS and al-Nusra fighters.
The city of Til Koçer, densely populated by Kurds and Arabs, is located near Girkê Legê and 30 km away from the largest city in western Kurdistan, Qamislo.
