An explosion has occurred near a position of the Turkish-backed Al-Sharqiya mercenary group in the town of Hemam Turkmen in Gire Spi (Tal Abyad) city on Friday.

It is yet not clear what caused the explosion which left at least 12 mercenaries dead.
