150 fighters of Al-Sewfa and Ahrar al-Sherqiya groups left Turkish supported Euphrates Shield and joined Syrian Democratic Forces.
The fighters, most of them from Deir ez-Zor region, released a video message and announced their separation from Euphrates Shield.
“We joined the Euphrates Shield to save our city from ISIS as sons of Deir ez-Zor. We understood that all the promises that were given to us were lies” a spokesperson for the group said.
The fighters and their families accused Turkey of using Euphrates Shield to invade Syrian territory and said: “The SDF is the only force that fights against terrorism in Syria.”
After the end of the statement, the fighters chanted: “Long Live Democratic Syria!”
