23 mercenaries eliminated in clashes in southeast of Manbij

SDF forces destroy the mercenaries’ vehicles, eliminating and wounding dozens of mercenaries southeast of Manbij.

The resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continues with unwavering determination and ferocity against the ongoing attacks by the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries across different regions in north and eastern Syria.

The SDF Press Centre reported that the Turkish occupation mercenaries launched a violent attack on the “Syriatel Hill” and its surrounding villages southeast of Manbij at :00 PM yesterday (Sunday).

“Fierce clashes erupted between our fighters and the mercenaries, resulting in the destruction of five military vehicles belonging to the mercenaries: three armored vehicles, one personnel carrier vehicle, and one military vehicle type Toyota. Additionally, an armored vehicle type BMB was also destroyed. It has been confirmed that 15 mercenaries were eliminated during these clashes,” SDF said.

According to the statement, the Martyr Harun Units also targeted mercenary gatherings and positions with heavy weapons, inflicting additional casualties upon them. However, the number of eliminated and injured mercenaries has not yet been confirmed.

Following the foiled attacks of the mercenaries, Turkish warplanes and UCAVs intensified the airstrikes on the region, providing clear support to the mercenaries, said the SDF. “This once again confirms that officers from the Turkish occupation army are directly operating the mercenaries’ operation room.”

In total, the number of eliminated mercenaries during yesterday’s clashes reached 23, with seven others injured.

This morning (Monday), Turkish occupation forces continued their aggression by targeting the villages of “Kirek” and “Omerik” near Kobani with artillery shelling. Concurrently, Turkish warplanes launched intense raids on the villages of “Maghrabtin” and “Sabit” near Serrin town, south of Kobani, as well as on the cement factory in the vicinity of Serrin town.

“The Turkish occupation repeatedly resorts to airstrikes using warplanes and UCAVs whenever its mercenaries’ ground attack is foiled, in a desperate attempt to bolster their deteriorating morale in the face of the relentless resistance by our fighters,” SDF stated.
