Tabqa Democratic Civilian administration released 7 persons arrested for aiding and abetting ISIS, with arbitration from clan sheiks and opinion leaders.
Northern and Eastern Syrian Democratic Autonomous Administration held a press conference on March 2 and announced that, upon a call by opinion leaders and clan sheiks, individuals who had been tricked by ISIS or arrested for aiding and abetting ISIS would be released.
Tabqa Civilian Administration held a meeting where 7 arrestees were released. Opinion leaders and representatives from civilian and military institutions were present in the meeting as well as Legislative Council Co-chair Rewshen Heme and Executive Council Co-chair Hind El Eli.
Tabqa Civilian Administration General Relations Committee Co-chair Teysir el Efan spoke in the meeting and called on the released arrestees to work to serve the community.
Tabqa Reconciliation Committee Member and Begera clan opinion leader Abdullah Mudehi asked the released arrestees to “be worthy of the decision”.
The 7 individuals were released officially by the end of the meeting.
