AANES delegation meets with Norwegian Foreign Ministry and the Red Party in Oslo

A delegation from North-East Syria discussed with the Norwegian Foreign Ministry the latest developments in the region, while the Norwegian Red Party confirmed its support for the Autonomous Administration and its condemnation of the Turkish attacks.

On Friday, August 18, a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) met a high-level delegation of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, at the Foreign Ministry building in the Norwegian capital, Oslo.

The delegation of the Autonomous Administration included the co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Abdul Karim Omar, the representative of the Autonomous Administration in the Scandinavian countries, Şiyar Elî, and the representative of the Autonomous Administration in Norway, Hindirîn Betî.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the general situation throughout Syria, and the current situation in North-East Syria in particular.

The joint head of the Department of Foreign Relations, Abdul Karim Omar, told ANHA that the delegation of the Autonomous Administration informed the Norwegian Foreign Ministry of the latest developments and challenges facing the Autonomous Administration in economic, relief, humanitarian and security aspects.

Omar stressed that the Autonomous Administration delegation informed the Norwegian Foreign Ministry of the need to prosecute ISIS mercenaries, to find a solution to the situation of the mercenaries' families in Hol and Roj camps, and the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities on this issue.

Turkish attacks serve terrorism

In a related context, the Autonomous Administration delegation met, at the Norwegian Parliament building, a delegation from the Norwegian Red Party, which included Norwegian Member of Parliament Seher Aydar, Eric Fold, the official in charge of foreign and defense relations, the constitutional committee official, John Brooks, and Melli Natalia Kelly, who is responsible for the refugee department.

During the meeting, the delegation of the Autonomous Administration highlighted the Turkish threats that practice state terrorism against the people of North-East Syria, which is exploiting the new crisis between Russia and Ukraine in order to launch a new aggression against North-East Syria, especially in Manbij and Tal Rifaat.

The AANES delegation told the Norwegian Red Party delegation about the repercussions of any possible Turkish attack. "We told them that any new attack would have huge repercussions on the region," Omar said.

The delegation stressed that any new Turkish attack would serve ISIS and terrorism, and said, "We also touched upon Turkey's armed drone attacks against the people of the region and leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces that are working with the international coalition forces in the fight against ISIS."

Omar stressed that the delegation of the Norwegian Red Party expressed its support for the Autonomous Administration, and its condemnation of the Turkish attacks that destabilize the security and stability of the region.
