The Community Defense Forces- Jin (HPC-Jin) and Kongra Star launched a sit-in in front of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Qamishlo on 12 August. The action continues on its 9th day with the participation of dozens of citizens from the Cizre Region.

The action tent was decorated with photographs of children injured and killed in the attacks carried out by the invading Turkish state, and flags of Kongra Star, HPC and Martyrs' Families Council.
Member of the Martyrs' Families Council, Mehmud Ehmed, told ANHA the reason for his participation. “We want to make our voice heard in the UN, EU, US, Russia and all European countries. Because thanks to our martyrs, we freed the world from a terrorist organization like ISIS.”
Stating that the Turkish state violated all laws and agreements, Ehmed said: "If Turkey had morals, it would not have targeted children and young people with drones in front of the world’s eyes."
Mehmud Ehmed added: “Is this the punishment for those who take the responsibility to protect humanity from ISIS has?”
The people of Derik, who supported the action, called for the airspace to be closed to Turkish planes.
According to the action program, members of the Democratic Society Education Committee (KPÇ-D) will support the action today.
