Aldar Xelîl, a member of the Co-Presidency Executive Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), called for mass participation in the Newroz celebrations, which will be held under the slogan, ‘Abdullah Öcalan’s physical freedom is the guarantee of a democratic Syria.’

Xelîl emphasized that Newroz is not only a celebration for the Kurdish people but for all the peoples of the Middle East. He highlighted its significance as a symbol of freedom, resistance, and renewal. Drawing attention to historical processes, Xelîl recalled how, during the era of the Medes, tribes and clans united against oppressors and led a revolution. He stressed that today’s Newroz continues to represent the unity of peoples, religious communities, and diverse groups in their struggle for freedom and justice.

Xelîl stated that as they approach the 2025 Newroz, they do so with the slogan 'Öcalan’s physical freedom is the guarantee of a democratic Syria.' He called on all peoples of the region to take part in the celebrations with great enthusiasm. Emphasizing that this year’s Newroz will be a celebration of freedom, equality, democracy, resistance, and the unity of peoples, Xelîl stated that the festivities will serve as an inspiration for all communities in the region.

Xelîl extended his greetings to everyone on the occasion of Newroz, expressing his hope that the 2025 Newroz will mark Mr. Öcalan’s freedom, the establishment of a democratic Syria, and the unity and solidarity of the Kurdish people.
