Autonomous Administration issues general amnesty

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a general amnesty for crimes committed before October 10, 2020.

On Saturday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a general and comprehensive amnesty for the crimes committed before today, October 10, 2020.

The pardon decree issued by the General Assembly of the Autonomous Administration excludes the following crimes from amnesty:

Treason and spying,

So-called honor killings,

Drug sale,

Punitive fines,

Members of terrorist organisations involved in military operations and explosions and persons convicted of terror crimes,

In order to be included in the amnesty, fugitives from justice must surrender within 60 days if they are inside the Autonomous Administration zones, and within 90 days if outside.
