The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria said on the second anniversary of its establishment that the regions under Turkish occupation will be liberated.
The Autonomous Administration Executive Council in Raqqa, Executive Council co-chairs Bêrîvan Xalid and Ebid Hamid El Mihbaş, General Assembly co-chairs Ferîd Etê and Sîham Qeryo and Autonomous Administration Justice Council co-chair Imad Keraf joined the press conference in which Sîham Qeryo read the statement for the second anniversary of the establishment of the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration.
The statement said: "We celebrate the second year of the establishment of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and we commend all peoples and components of Syria. The Autonomous Administration is the result of the struggle for peace and democracy since the beginning of the Syrian crisis. The peoples of the region have as their base the struggle for peace and democracy and have formed a democratic administration since 2014.
Since its establishment, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has worked for the representation of the will of society in regions such as Raqqa, Tabqa and Deir ez-Zor right after their liberation from ISIS.”
The statement added: “The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has been striving with all methods for two years to fulfil the demands of the people of the region. However, we have to continue to fight terrorism, its historical task. On the other hand, the struggle of the Autonomous Administration to become a model for Syria's democratic solution continues, as well as the diplomatic efforts to include representatives of North and East Syria in political solution platforms.”
The statement continued: “Despite all the difficulties and obstacles, the attacks of the invading Turkish state and its mercenaries, and the blockade against the region, the Autonomous Administration strives to meet the needs of the people, to ensure their defense and security.”
The statement also recalled the struggle of the Autonomous Administration against the coronavirus pandemic despite its limited resources.
“Despite the obstacles and the embargo, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has made historical gains. These gains stand against the plans of destruction waged by external forces that want to destroy the will of the people and the Democratic Nation project. We have defeated such plans.
On the occasion of the second anniversary of the establishment of the Autonomous Administration, we call on all the peoples of North and East Syria to support the Autonomous Administration, security institutions, SDF, Internal Security Forces, service and public institutions, and to be united. We reiterate our promise to continue our democratic, political and social struggle to protect our projects. We reiterate our promise to our martyrs and our people: we will realize the political will of the people and their dreams of a democratic Syria.
Together, we state that we will liberate Afrin, Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî and all the occupied regions of Syria and ensure the honourable return of the people who have migrated."
