The people of the Qamishlo Canton attended the ceremony organized to pay tribute to Anti-Terrorist Units (YAT) fighters Elaa Ednan Hemûd (Hogir Dêrik), Hemîd Seydo Seydo (Dîdar Dêrik), Nejbîr Memûd Hemdo (Feraşîn Baran), Derwêş Ehmed Omer (Koçer Dêrik) and Mecîd Rojava (Koçer Dêrik) and Mecîd Silêman) who fell as martyrs in a helicopter crash on 15 March.
Photographs of the martyrs and the flags of the Martyrs' Families Assembly were carried at the ceremony held in Girkê Legê district.
Speaking at the ceremony, co-chair of the Martyrs' Families Council Hesen Ubêd said: "The martyrs proved their strength and will, and left their mark in the history of the struggle against ISIS. We will follow the path of the martyrs.”
Rîhan Temo from Kongra Star stated that they lived in safety thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs, while Mihyedîn Xêrik, one of the SDF commanders, repeated their promise to continue the struggle led by the martyrs.

Delegations from the Autonomous Administration in Kobanê Canton, civil society organizations, military institutions in the Euphrates Region and many people paid a condolence visit to the family of YAT Commander Şervan Kobanê.
Speaking at the ceremony, Adil Hec Kerho, Co-chair of the Euphrates Region Martyrs' Families Council, said: “For more than 50 years, we have been fighting against oppressors and sacrificing our youth. Thanks to Leader Abdullah Öcalan's ideas, we broke all our chains and stood against those who tried to invade and occupy our lands. We will not forget the sacrifices of the guerrillas who resisted chemical weapons."
Democratic Union Party (PYD) Euphrates Region Diplomatic Relations Office co-chair Bekir Hec İsa stated that they are proud of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's children, who grew up with a democratic and free thought and defended these lands with great courage, and added that they will always be safe as long as there are heroes like Martyr Şervan Kobanê.
