Since 25 August, the Internal Security Forces, together with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the People's and Women's Defense Units (YPG/YPJ), have been conducting an operation against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in the Hol refugee and internment camp. The seventh day of the operation started at four o'clock on Wednesday morning. Sector 7 of the camp was searched throughout the day. Five ISIS members and six ISIS suspects were arrested. At the same time, the residents of the sector were registered in order to find hidden ISIS members. Each tent was searched individually, the floors were checked with metal detectors. Tunnels, weapons and torture tools had been discovered in previous days.
Large amounts of money were seized during the searches. An ISIS "teacher" was also arrested and detained. A large amount of money, ISIS propaganda and training materials were discovered in her tent.
The operation will continue on Thursday.
ISIS stronghold Hol Camp
In Hol Camp, about 60,000 people live near Hesekê in Rojava. Among them are thousands of ISIS jihadists from over 50 different countries. Many of the ISIS women remain convinced of the ISIS ideology and educate the children in the camp in this way. While the autonomous administration is largely left alone with the control of the camp and the states of origin are very reluctant, if at all, to take back their citizens, a new generation of ISIS jihadists is growing up in the camp. Hidden in the tents of the refugee and internment camp for ISIS families, Sharia trials take place, ISIS indoctrinates children and young people, and the ISIS "morality police" murder. ISIS cells have murdered at least 44 camp residents this year alone, including a woman and two children. Repeatedly, decapitated bodies of ISIS victims have been found in the camp's sewers.
