The Afrin Assembly of Martyrs' Families set up a condolence tent in the village of Til Qirahê in Shehba Canton to pay tribute to YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) guerrillas Gul Çiya, Pelşîn, Gulan, Hejar Zozan, Leyla Amed who were martyred as a result of airstrikes and military operations carried out by the invading Turkish state in the Kurdistan mountains.

YJA Star guerrilla Gulan fell on 7 June 2022, Gulçiya Gabar and Pelşîn Newroz on 29 April 2019, Hêjar Zozan on 16 April 2023 and Leyla Amed on 11 March 2023.

In a speech on behalf of the Assembly of Martyrs' Families, Şaziye İbrahim stressed that all 5 fallen guerrillas were vanguards of the revolution. She vowed that they would continue their struggle in the footsteps of the martyrs who dedicated themselves to fighting darkness, oppression and slavery.

Drawing attention to the struggle to ensure the physical freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, Şaziye said: “It is time for Öcalan's physical freedom. We will continue the struggle until his physical freedom is achieved.”

During the commemoration event, photos of the fallen guerrillas were delivered to the families of martyrs from Afrin.
