Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Spokesperson Ferhad Shami spoke about the attacks of Turkey and allied SNA (Syrian National Army) mercenaries against North and East Syria.

Answering the questions of Ronahî TV, Farhad Shamî said, “The conflicts are not only between two forces. Yes, there are two armed forces clashing in the field right now. On one side is the SDF and on the other side are the occupying Turkish state and ISIS mercenaries. The attacks by the occupying Turkish state are directed against the peoples living in the region; the Kurds, Christians, Arabs, all other peoples in the Autonomous Administration regions. Fierce clashes are taking place in many places. Turkey wants to turn the process after al-Nusra's attack on Aleppo into an opportunity for itself. For this, it has put its mercenaries into action. At a time when everyone's eyes were on Damascus, the invading Turkish state and its mercenaries advanced on the Autonomous Administration regions.”

Ferhad Shamî remarked that the attacks intensified in Qereqozaq, Tishrin in the north of Kobanê and Dêr Hafir in the Aleppo countryside and said, “There have been tough attacks for 3 days. Attacks are being carried out with heavy weapons and drones. Thousands of mercenaries are taking part in the attacks. However, SDF fighters put up unprecedented resistance in response. The attacks at the Qereqozaq bridge have been repelled. SDF fighters are now mobilised to clear the region completely. Attacks were also repelled at the Tishrin Dam. At the moment, there is no fighting as the mercenaries have fled. The clashes that started on Monday evening in Dêr Hafir in the Aleppo countryside continued on Tuesday. The mercenaries attempting to infiltrate were confronted and 3 were killed and their weapons seized. SDF fighters defend the existence of their people with their lives. This heroism is unique and unparalleled. If it were not for these great costs and our organisation, massacres like those committed by the HTS in the Alawite settlements would have been committed against us today.”

Ferhad Shami noted that statements about Manbij would be made in the coming days: “It is not appropriate to share some military information at the moment, this information should not be known by anyone. There will definitely be detailed statements on Manbij. For the safety of our fighters, we cannot share everything at the moment.”

Referring to the massacres carried out by the HTS and the paramilitary forces supported by Turkey after the fall of the Ba'ath regime, Farhad Shami said, “These images are being shared everywhere now. The issue is not a matter of regime change. There is chaos in Syria right now. There is no prediction as to when this chaos will end. ISIS' previous practices are being repeated, as far as we can see in the videos circulated. A sectarian massacre is currently being carried out. We have warned of this many times before. Our people should be vigilant. This is a war of existence and non-existence. Everyone should follow what is happening in Damascus, Homs, Latakia and Tartus well. No one has the right to do wrong. It is the resistance of the SDF fighters on all four sides that will liberate us. No one outside of this has the power to protect this people. This resistance has a diplomatic wing as well as a military wing. We engage in diplomatic efforts to prevent massacres. We will not allow the occupying Turkish state to massacre our people.”

Emphasising that no one should rely on the dirty information spread on the social media, Ferhad Shami noted that every information other than official statements by the Autonomous Administration and SDF serves the special war. Underlining that the fabricated news in the virtual media and the media close to the government serve the psychological special war, Ferhad Shami added, “Special war is one of the main pillars of occupation. If there is an agreement, a meeting, this will be shared officially. Everyone should keep an eye on the SDF, which is the cleanest force in Syria. We know that everyone who has the opportunity, especially in Homs, Hama, Latakia, Tartus, wants to come to places under the administration of the SDF. In the Autonomous Administration, everyone lives together equally and democratically. There is respect for beliefs and ethnic structures. No one massacres anyone. No one should rely on mercenaries. The mercenaries are wolves. A wolf does not stop eating meat and graze. Everyone should know this.”
