Health workers in Afrin and Shehba called on humanitarian and legal institutions to fulfil their responsibilities.
Dozens of health workers from Afrin and Shehba cantons gathered in front of Avrin hospital in Shehba, to make a statement regarding the embargo imposed by the Damascus government on the canton.
Afrin and Shehba canton Health Committee Member Telat Wilo read the statement.
"It is clear that the attacks in Afrin, and the displacement of its people forcing them to live in the most difficult living conditions are not enough to break their will of resistance and their insistence on returning to their homeland."
Drawing attention to the declaration proposing a solution to the conflict presented by the Autonomous Administration, the statement said: "Instead of responding positively to this declaration, the government worsened the embargo and the passage of vital products was prohibited."
The statement said that the embargo would endanger the lives of the citizens and drag the region into a humanitarian disaster. Health workers condemned the silence of the international organizations on the embargo and called on humanitarian and legal authorities to fulfil their humanitarian duties.
