Internal Security Forces members Selma Mistefa, Sara El-Hisên, Cihan Mistefa and Beşar Bozan, were killed in a Turkish state drone attack on 28 July. The four were buried at Martyr Dicle Cemetery in Kobanê.
Ferhan Kobanê, co-chair of the Kobanê Canton Assembly, addressed the people at the ceremony and said that there was no other choice but to resist.
Ferhan Kobanê said that the invading Turkish state could not fulfil its plan to evacuate the region and therefore attacked it with all methods in front of the eyes of the world, and continued: "We must be careful and stand by our forces. Regional structures must raise their voices against the Turkish invasion, because the war is not only against the Kurds. The Turkish state wants to destroy our democratic project and the Autonomous Administration."
Sozdar Şêxo, co-chair of the Euphrates Region Internal Affairs Committee, said: "We will not give up and we will follow on the path of our martyrs and the path of freedom for women. Turkey's attacks do not frighten us."
Şêxo continued: "The Turkish state is the enemy of peace-loving peoples. But the worst is the enemy within us. We must identify our enemies as soon as possible, because they are more dangerous than the fascist Turkish state. These enemies are selling themselves and causing our children to become martyrs."
Girê Spi Canton Council co-chair Hezaa Mihemed said: "There is a conspiracy against the region. The last meeting in Tehran was part of this conspiracy. The enemies of the region got together to find ways to defeat the democratic project of the region and occupy other areas."
Mihemed called for the closure of the airspace of the region to stop the attacks, and invited the Syrian people to unite to remove the Turkish occupation of Syrian territory.
