The fight against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries will not deter us from continuing to pursue and dismantle ISIS elements, the SDF said.
The fight against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries will not deter us from continuing to pursue and dismantle ISIS elements, the SDF said.
As part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, the Military Operations Teams (TOL) of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted, on February 13, a security operation in the countryside of Deir Ezzor targeting an ISIS terrorist cell.
In a statement about the operation, the SDF Press Center said: “Following precise intelligence gathering, our forces raided where the terrorist cell was hiding, capturing the leader of the cell, Abdul Rahman Al-Aziz, along with two other terrorists, Talal Al-Ali and Nassar Al-Aziz.”
The statement continued: “This ISIS terrorist cell was responsible for multiple terrorist attacks in the region, targeting both our forces and civilians, as well as public infrastructure. Additionally, it gathered security intelligence for ISIS. The leader, Abdul Rahman Al-Aziz, maintained direct contact with senior ISIS figures, including Amer Al-Rafdan and Abu Osama Al-Iraqi.”
The SDF reaffirmed their commitment to striking with an iron fist against anyone attempting to undermine security and stability: “The fight against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries will not deter us from continuing to pursue and dismantle ISIS elements, despite the organization’s attempts to exploit Turkish attacks to resume its terrorist activities.”
