ISIS mines injure two minors in Shehba

Two mines left behind by ISIS mercenaries in separate locations in the Shehba canton have exploded on Tuesday, injuring two minors.

18 years old Hemze Izol stepped on a mine while grazing sheep in the village of Elewşê in the Shehba Canton of northern Syria. Izol was seriously wounded and taken under treatment in hospital. Doctors had to amputate a part of his foot.

In the village of Til Sosin, in Ehdas district, 11 years old Mihemed Hebeş was playing with his friend when he stepped on a mine left behind by ISIS. Hebeş and his family had moved to Shehba from the village of Çeqela in Afrin’s Shiye district after the occupation of the region by the Turkish army and allied mercenaries. Mihemed’s right foot was broken as a result of the explosion of the mine. The boy continues receiving treatment in hospital and will have a second surgery after six months.

Officials from the Avrin Hospital in Shehba Canton said that both minors are in stable conditions and will be discharged from hospital today.
