Five years have passed since the liberation of Kobanê. The strategic battle of Kobanê took place in that important city of Rojava between 15 September 2014 and 26-27 January 2015, when it was liberated.
People of Kobanê took to the streets today to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the liberation of their city and the 6th anniversary of the Kobanê Autonomous Administration.
Masses gathered at the central Şehîd Egîd Square which was the scene of fiercest battles between YPG/YPJ fighters and ISIS mercenaries.
The celebration is attended by Kurdish and Arab peoples as well as representatives of several institutions and political parties from Manbij and Girê Spî.
Culture and art groups will take to the stage and officials will address the crowd.
