Musician and activist Konstantin Wecker expressed his solidarity with the Kurds in a video message he released and underlined that the freedom of Öcalan is the basic condition for a just and peaceful solution to the Kurdish question.
Wecker spoke about the attacks carried out by the Erdoğan regime in Turkey against the people of Rojava, Northern Syria, Shengal and South Kurdistan as a violation of international law and a crime against humanity.
Wecker said: "The people of Kurdistan and Rojava finally deserve peace and social justice. A just and peaceful solution for the people of Kurdistan requires the release of Abdullah Öcalan. His release is a fundamental condition for a more peaceful and democratic future in Kurdistan, Turkey and the entire region."
Global solidarity is needed
Wecker said: "Rojava concerns all of us. The people of Rojava need our global solidarity now. Let’s launch a worldwide campaign for Öcalan, just like we did for Nelson Mandela."
