Manbij Military Council commander says they will resist Turkish attacks

Ebdurehman El-Benawi, one of the Commander of the Manbij Military Council, evaluated the artillery firing of the Turkish state against Manbij and said that they would resist the attacks.

The invading Turkish state is bombing villages in the north and west of Manbij every day. The Turkish state and its mercenaries specifically target civilian settlements.

Evaluating the situation Ebdurehman El-Benawi, one of the Commander of the Manbij Military Council, told ANHA that they would resist any attack.

El-Benawi reminded that the Damascus government and Russia also have forces deployed in the region and added: “They do not react to the attacks of the Turkish state. In particular, Russia has a guarantor role. It must stop this war. We keep the border line, so that our people do not have to worry. We will not allow any negative developments to happen.”

The occupying Turkish state signed the Sochi agreement with Russia on 22 October 2019. A ceasefire was declared in the region within the framework of the agreement. Russia act as the guarantor of the ceasefire. The Autonomous Administration allowed the forces of the Damascus Government to settle in the border areas under the agreement. However, the attacks of the Turkish state have never stopped. Russia, on the other hand, remains silence about the attacks.
