Mass grave discovered in Deir ez-Zor

ISIS mercenaries massacred numerous people from the Shietat tribe in 2014.

A mass grave containing the remains of 26 people from the same tribe has been discovered in the Badiya Jam region of Deir ez-Zor, Syria.

The mass grave was found on Monday. 25 of the total 26 corpses found in the grave have been identified. All victims are members of the Shietat tribe. The remains have been buried in the cemetery in the town of Abu Hamam.

During three weeks of genocidal attacks in July and August 2014, ISIS mercenaries massacred numerous people from the Shietat tribe. As many as 1200 people were murdered in these attacks.
