Message from Efrîn: We'll never allow invasion to get a foothold

The people of Efrîn have risen by tens of thousands against the military attacks of the Turkish state and gave message of resistance in today's mass demonstration.

The Efrîn Canton of Rojava witnessed today a historic mass demonstration joined by tens of thousands of its inhabitants against the Turkish state, which has taken position to invade the Efrîn Canton, and presented their unity and fierce stance towards occupying forces.

Tens of thousands gathered in front of the Kurdish Heyva Sor main office and marched from there following the main streets to the 'July 19 Stadium' where the main meeting took place.

After a minute of silence for the fallen martyrs, PYD Executive Commitee member Emîne Osê held an opening speech whereafter Şerîf Cemo, member of Efrîn Canton Legislative Council followed and stated: "We the Kurdish and Arabic people are fighting against fascism. We do not fear their weapons because our will is greater stronger than their arms."

Speaking after, YPJ commander Fîdan Efrîn made clear that the ultimate goal of the Turkish state is to occupy the soil of whole Syria, and continued: "We have frustrated those plans of theirs only by means of resistance and sacrifices of our martyrs. Our people showed today once again that we are resolute in our struggle. We as the YPG and YPJ will never pull back."

The final words were spoken by Botan Endomid, member of the Rojava Youth's Union Administrative Board, who said the following: "Today is a historic day for the region's people. This people have effectively voided the plans of the occupying Turkish state already."

The mass demonstration ended with slogans following speeches.
