MSD: Russian attack a support for terror

Syrian Democratic Council condemned the Russian bombardment on SDF positions, describing it as a support for terror.

Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) released a statement about Monday’s bombardment by Russian forces on the positions of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Koniko (Conico) area northeast of Deir ez-Zor where SDF forces are engaged in ‘Operation Cizire Storm’ to liberate the east of Euphrates River from ISIS.

MSD pointed out that hundreds of villages and towns are being liberated and thousands of civilians rescued from ISIS in the Operation Cizire Storm while on the other hand the liberation of Raqqa is nearing and the people of Deir ez-Zor have founded their council.

The statement of the Syrian Democratic Council said; “As the Koniko oil field has just been liberated by our forces, causing the ISIS gangs to lose their morale, Russian jets have once again bombed our forces in order to impede our advance and relieve the pressure on ISIS gangs.

MSD condemned the Russian bombardment on SDF positions, describing it as a support for terror, and added;

“We urge Russia to fulfil its duties against terror. We call on the international community and the International Coalition to put pressure on Russia in order for this mistake not to be repeated. Such attacks only deepen the Syrian crisis and make the people of Syria victims.”
