The people in the villages on the edge of the Turkish-occupied territories in northern Syria live under constant artillery fire.
The inhabitants of the Zenobiya village live under daily artillery fire from Turkey. The village near Girê Spî (Tal Abyad) consists of about 30 buildings built of mud bricks. The shells mainly hit the fields, but also in the middle of the settlement. Syrian troops are stationed around the village, but they do not react to the attacks in any way.
"Do something about it!"
In the village, Arabs and Kurds live together. They are angry about the attacks. Ismail Muhammed Khalaf says: "We can't sleep at night because of the explosions. Only a few days ago our field burned down. We have done nothing to the Turkish state. Why is it attacking us? We appeal to the world public, do something about it!"
"Our life is in danger"
Fatma Khalaf tells how her children grow up under the fire of the howitzers: "What is the crime of these children? What do they want from our children? Our life is in danger. Our adobe houses are constantly shaking because of the daily attacks. We protect our children on our laps all the time. The only thing we want is that these attacks stop!"
